The Soroptimist International – Greater Manila District (GMD) Awards, Go Green Advocacy, and Kamare program, held on the morning of November 30, 2025, brought together women’s leadership, environmental stewardship, and sustainable fashion within Habing Katutubo 2025 at the SMX Convention Center Aura. The segment highlighted how cultural platforms can advance social good through recognition, awareness, and responsible creation.

Honoring Women and Community Impact

The program opened with an invocation and welcome remarks, setting a reflective tone for a morning dedicated to service and advocacy. Soroptimist International – Greater Manila District recognized individuals and initiatives that advance women’s empowerment, community welfare, and ethical leadership—affirming the organization’s commitment to improving the lives of women and girls.

Public Awareness and the Adopt-a-WCPD Project

A key highlight was the Public Awareness and Adopt-a-WCPD Project, which underscored the importance of multi-sector collaboration in supporting Women and Children Protection Desks (WCPDs). The discussion emphasized prevention, protection, and community engagement—aligning civic responsibility with cultural advocacy.

Go Green Advocacy: Sustainability in Practice

The Go Green Advocacy segment focused on environmental responsibility within creative industries. Speakers and partners discussed sustainable practices—from mindful material use to waste reduction—reinforcing the idea that fashion and culture must respond to ecological realities. The advocacy resonated strongly with Habing Katutubo’s ethos of ethical sourcing and long-term stewardship.

Kamare: Sustainable Fashion with Purpose

The program also featured Kamare, a sustainability-driven fashion initiative that champions reuse, longevity, and conscious consumption. Positioned within Habing Katutubo, Kamare demonstrated how sustainability can be both accessible and culturally grounded—encouraging audiences to reimagine fashion as a cycle of care rather than excess.

Fellowship, Recognition, and Shared Commitment

The segment concluded with closing remarks, the Soroptimist Hymn, and fellowship over lunch—strengthening networks among advocates, creatives, and community leaders. As part of Habing Katutubo 2025, the Soroptimist GMD program affirmed that cultural events can be powerful platforms for social impact, where recognition, advocacy, and sustainable practice converge.

Through this collaboration, Habing Katutubo reinforced its commitment to women’s empowerment, environmental responsibility, and community-centered action—proving that culture-led platforms can drive meaningful change beyond the runway.
