BAGUIO CITY — The runway of BLOOMS & LOOMS: Habing Katutubo Panagbenga Edition came alive with culture, artistry, and contemporary Filipino fashion as featured designers unveiled collections deeply rooted in heritage and identity. Officially accredited by the Baguio Flower Festival Foundation Inc. and the Panagbenga Executive Committee, the event became a vibrant platform showcasing the evolving beauty of Philippine handwoven textiles.

Among the distinguished designers featured during the showcase was Ms. Mariz Bomogao, who presented her collection titled MB Collections: Tupi en Dupot. Her designs reflected the richness of Indigenous craftsmanship through intricate weaving traditions combined with modern silhouettes, celebrating both cultural authenticity and wearable elegance.

Also gracing the runway was Ms. Juliedan Vergara with her brand Julie’s Creations, presenting pieces that embodied grace, creativity, and timeless Filipino artistry. Her collection highlighted the versatility of local textiles while honoring the dedication of the weaving communities behind every fabric.

Meanwhile, Ms. Mary Grace Lee showcased her Marapait Collection, a presentation inspired by cultural narratives and contemporary fashion expression. Her creations blended traditional textures with refined detailing, bringing forward a powerful representation of heritage through modern design.

Leading the showcase was Ms. Maila Alog, Head Designer, who unveiled multiple collections including Androgen 2026, CordiChic, Pormang Pinoy, and Cordiversal Collections. Each collection reflected a unique perspective on Filipino identity and innovation, incorporating Indigenous textiles into contemporary fashion pieces that bridged tradition with present-day style.

Supporting the creative direction of the collections was Ricmar Agas, who served as Associate Designer. His contribution further strengthened the collaborative vision behind the presentations, emphasizing craftsmanship, cultural appreciation, and artistic innovation.

The featured collections captivated audiences with their fusion of traditional weaving techniques and modern aesthetics, reinforcing the importance of preserving Indigenous artistry while opening new spaces for Filipino textiles in contemporary fashion.
